Introduction
Horizon Tech ("we," "us," or "our") operates Horizon Checkout, a desktop application and associated web services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Service.
By using Horizon Checkout, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy and our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in via a third-party provider (Google, Discord), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
User-Provided Configuration
The Service allows you to store configuration data needed to operate on your behalf. Sensitive data never leaves your device. Data synced between the web dashboard and your desktop application is end-to-end encrypted and is not stored on our servers. All data on your device is encrypted at rest.
Usage Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website to collect anonymized usage data including page views, referral sources, and general interaction patterns. This data does not include personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the Service.
Operational Data & Telemetry
The desktop application collects anonymized operational telemetry — such as task success rates, failure reasons, performance timings, and resource utilization — to power your in-app analytics dashboard and help us improve the Service. When a task fails, we collect diagnostic information about the failure (such as error type and context) to identify issues and improve reliability. This data is associated with your account but does not contain the contents of your configuration.
Crash Reports & Error Logs
We collect crash reports and error logs to diagnose issues and improve service reliability. These reports may include application state, error messages, and system information at the time of the error. They do not contain your user-provided configuration data.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To authenticate your identity and manage your account
- To operate the Service on your behalf using your configuration
- To send service-related communications (outage notices, security alerts)
- To analyze usage trends and improve user experience
- To diagnose task failures and improve success rates
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms
Data Storage & Security
Sensitive data never leaves your device and is stored in an encrypted database protected by your vault password. Data synced between the web dashboard and desktop application is end-to-end encrypted and never stored on our servers. Server-side account data is protected with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
We follow industry security best practices, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your local device, vault password, and recovery key.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these cases:
- Service providers: We use third-party services (hosting, analytics, email delivery) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process
- Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public
Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Local application data (logs, operational history) can be managed through the built-in data retention settings, which allow you to configure automatic cleanup periods. You may delete your account and associated server-side data at any time.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of analytics tracking
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@hrznbot.com.
Age Requirement
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the application or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
